I have a honest question that hopefully you won't all run from or just ignore as per usual. Every time people bringing up the game becoming JUST about money, there is literally zero response. Is there EVER going to be any actual response? Or is it just, you know it, we know it and clearly you just don't care enough to respond?

Right now you have towers that are more expensive than ever, but then you also made dragons that realistically negate those towers by being way too strong. Events are pretty much just based off of who is willing to spend more consumables from gold chests. Wars are basically meaningless at this point because they provide almost no actual return. The beta was monetized this badly BEFORE it has even been released. The new mega coin "feature" is just so you can spend more and do less work.

So, feel free to tell me where I am wrong? Where is any of the skill, strategy, tactics? Something that provides fun and value that is NOT solely based on amount spent. I would love to be proven wrong but so far I have yet to see it because every time I or someone asks this, there is zero legitimate response.

The part that people used to love WAS the team aspect but now it doesn't matter who is on a team because you are just looking for someone willing to spend more, are they a good fit? A decent person? Someone you want to chat with in your free time? Nope, none of that matters compared to the amount of dollars spent.

I would love to be told how I am wrong but no matter what, I am just not seeing it. I want to think there is some decency left in the people at PG but honestly, every time anyone tries to have faith in your system you reward it with an even more broken and harsh response.

Maybe the new forum will have a feature that will let you buy answers from their small, hard working team of PX people.

Yes!!!! Mega coins have to be in gold chests. Maybe there should be a mega coin shrine in the pvp events. Shoot down # Divine/Epic/Legendary/Mythic/Sorcerer/Hunter/Warrior to unlock a Mega coin. Ex) Shoot down 50 legendary dragons! The mission is the same for everyone and lasts for the whole event and can be repeated. This is actually a good idea, it adds so much strategy and skill to the game. Officers and Leaders can tell their players with X type of dragon to attack X team. If the mission was about legendary dragons and your team does not use any legendary dragons, the opposing teams will have a hard time getting the mega coin. This way mega coins are not a waste of money.

They are working on this forum migration... So hopefully this is the cause for all their hiding. Once, we are all moved over i and many others will continue to bombard them with all these questions and ideas. Until then i would just say to save all you ideas somewhere to expand in in the new forums and hang on till the transfer is complete. We all know they can't multitask so let's just let them breath.

No. Some of the questions here are easy some need first and second reviews by a supervisor and/or the boss of the supervisor.

And the latter will likely say: Wtf it's a public forum there we won't answer those kind of questions there.

Some answers would harm them badly that's why they stay quiet.

It's easy to answer things like: What color is Nec? Can we buy this and that? Shouldn't xyz feature (like spells) work this way?

Um, so what about lower leagues? This is basically saying it's okay to make it a spend only event for lower level teams who never see a legend dragon (cause of their level) BUT it's not okay to make it a spend only event for high levels?

A bit hypocritical wouldn't you say?

Panda If you haven't already, Google Chinese Browser game model (theres a great GDC Vault article about milking $100,000 whales with this model). This is exactly what PG is turning this game into.
There are still aspects of this game I like, and I naively and now stupidly cling onto the hope that PG are not the soulless money vampires they have repeatedly shown themselves to be. However, even my stupidity has its limits, and I'm almost there. When it happens it will almost be a relief.

I get what they want but...I just dont see it with this game...too much of the people that started were skill players and while there are spenders I dont think its enough to carry the whole game. I could be totally wrong but the way the game is set up. With what shred of teamwork is left, even if you just make teams of pure spenders they wont win things like wars...until they replace wars lol.

But I digress, I can see it working on some platforms but not this one...so there are other ways to try and get people to spend, just not in this manner.

      Solid thread.
The core game doesn't require much skill anymore. Well guess what, the beta requires even less, just buy ships because even when you fail against a base, you still destroy your enemies ships.
      Money talks, so fuck logic.

MareZ I consider yourself, Mech and Red the best ambassadors the game has seen. Generally all three of you can see the pros and cons of each argument and articulate a well thought out response with plenty of perspective.

Lately it seems even you guys are getting worn down by the current state of the game. Quite often for any game when the die hard ambassadors lose their faith then the game has reached the end of its shelf life.

Panda the issue is that you are right. PG know it,we all know it.

The objective is to keep us pissed off but not so pissed off thst we quit just like a normal gambling addiction. This is the same mechanic that all the top casinos apply.

Anger keeps us emotionally invested in the game and it is a bloody effective tool. When we get this angry we think surely PG will change this path and improve
It is absurd that they could keep doing this but here we all are.

I get their goal and it is their right as it is their game by any means. The only maddening part is when they try to tell you that greed ISN'T the only motivating factor and then talk about other games like World of Warcraft which are a completely different game and model that does not logically justify ANY of the moves they make. For me at least, it is just being treated like we are completely stupid...partially, sure, we still play the game haha. But to try and bs us and say...no, no these changes are good for you...come on -______-

I went to check out the Chinese gaming model and also searched Tencent's wiki page. Interesting stuff... like their acquisition of PG is too small to make it to the list of their subsidiaries (which likely means their line of reporting is not reaching very high, i.e., focus of their line management could very well be on short term profit maximization). Or that their software is not perceived as "safe" from a hacking/cheating perspective. Or that their founder became famous with a quote "copying is not evil". Or that their model is focusing on large number of games, knowing many will fail. Or that targets for many of their games are whales who spend over 100k on a game...

It looks like they somehow got WD and realized that it does not really fit into their games landscape. So they (Tencent line management) do what experience and leaderships guides them to do, focus on big spenders and forget the rest. They probably got convinced by original PG people with a nice business case to at least try war boats but I bet they don't care about that.

Ofc I can be completely off with these assumptions but somehow it explains to me why the game develops the way it does.

Though I have little doubt that TenCent has contributed to some of the more recent decisions, this is some crazy snowballing.

Investment vs subsidiary... subsidiary would imply that TenCent has 50%+ controlling stake in PG. In May, techcrunch suggested that TenCent had 38% in PG (and there'd be a different announcement if ownership were to change). 38 < 50. Wiki is hardly a reliable source for corporate holdings anyway...
