    Dragon Lords,


    In the past, we've heard you question the purpose of that dragon hanging out by the Breeding Castle, and we've received numerous suggestions on how to get more of your own dragons involved when it comes to defending your base...

    After months of review and experimenting, we're now happy to announce that Dragon Perches will soon be available to help you defend your base!

    Show off your dragons and have them defend your base the way you have always wanted to! Your dragons will soon be able to be placed on three new perches to guard and protect some of your islands after fully exploring those islands. When a dragon is placed on one of your perches, it will attack the enemy dragons who are trying to lay waste to your base! The perch will have different benefits and attack strengths depending on the type, rarity, and strength of the dragon you place on it!


    Three perches are placed in three small islands. They can be upgraded and players can place dragons on once they’ve fully explored the island. The dragon on the perch will attack incoming dragons and, depending on its rarity, add additional benefits to the towers placed on that island.


    Here are the essential information you should know about perch:
    • Dragons that are stationed to perch will be unavailable for attack use and they will be taken out of your active dragon roster.
    • Dragons on perches will gain a small amount of experience for being on the perch daily.
    • Player can choose to feed the dragon which boosts attack damage for certain time.
    • Weaker perches won’t be able to station powerful dragons but stronger perches will be able to. Upgrade your perch!
    • Perches don’t have supershots.
    • Black pearls are required to build and upgrade the perch. Black Pearls will be available from Gold Chests (and soon from event prizes).
    • Each dragon confers bonus benefits to their island based on dragon type and rarity
      • Rare Dragons
        • No extra benefits
      • Epic Dragons
        • Perch’s island is protected (reduced damage) from dragons with the same element as the perch dragon
      • Legendary
        • Sorcerer: Supershots are more effective (Damaging shots do more damage, shields have more hp/last longer and resource buildings heal for more)
        • Hunter: Increases attack speed of towers on the island
        • Warrior: Increases health of all towers on the island
      • Mythic
        • Sorcerer: Increased chance for a supershot to not consume supershot ammo
        • Hunter: Increased chance for a building to fire two shots each attack
        • Warrior: Increased chance for a building to create a shield on damage












    Dragons That Can’t Be Placed On The Perch
    • Phweemp: Since it is an exceptionally unique dragon, it is currently incompatible due to animation. (It will wave “hi” instead of attacking...)





    Some of the issues we encountered and fixed while testing this feature can be found below. So please let us know if you somehow encounter them or any new problems:


    * Being unable to remove/add a dragon from the perch

    * A spell not working on the perch

    * At some angles, the attacking dragon may not be able to attack perch
    * When dragons level up dragons will be removed from the perch and not returned to active roster

    Nice to see a new feature however not sure that I like that the black pearls will only be availiable in gold chests to begin with. Would have been nice to have seen all players start the feature at the same time and introduce the first black pearls in an event and gold chests at the same time.

    Can the dragon be removed from the perch early out of the time limit, will this cost at all? more importantly will the resource drop of food be increased also and the rss protection improved as with this new feature food will be more scarce than it is currently?

    i think the idea looks good, just need to see it in action to judge if the stronger dragons are op, I'm hoping that Draco will be the best to place on a perch lol. Would have been a perfect opportunity to use the beta testers to test this feature, was this considered at all?

      Black pearls will be available at a somewhat low rate in chests during this event just to give some people the time to start building up a few. Starting next week in fortification there will be some available in event prizes as well as in chests. These perches are additions to current bases, they do not replace current tower slots, therefore they will be a little tougher to level up (because they add much more incremental value to a base).

      This would have been a good opportunity to increase the value of silver chests, as PG have stated they want to do. Instead of diluting gold, make silver something people might actually want to open. Echo

    i knew money catch was here somewhere.

    ^ I think that clarifies how generous pocket grinch will be on Xmas day.

    Has the RNG (random number generator aka drop rate for those that don't know) been tweaked so the more you spend the higher chance you get to obtain black pearls ? 1 drop per 100 chests perhaps ?

    Is t only associated with diamond because other lower leagues seem to be irrelevant ?

      The bonus seems high. If you can get +30% tower attack with just Arbo, what about Sekham or a garnet? Seems very OP and needed to compete.

        There are multipliers applied to each tier of dragons attack power. This is meant to apply a slightly more normalized overall attack power of the perch regardless of the dragon used. Stronger tier dragons will be stronger on the perch than weaker dragons, but the spread should be greatly reduced from the actual attack power spread between the tiers.

        what is going to be the conversion rate for black pearl overage? not that it concerns me, but you know it will be an issue asap. someone will buy a ton of gold chests, get a ton of black pearls, will max out upgrades for all three perches, and will have leftover black pearls that then continue to drop instead of other items in the gold chests.

          Dragons currently cannot be removed from a perch early. I'm not aware of any currency or protection rebalancing due to this feature, but I'll look into it more and get back to you. We didn't set it up for a beta because we already have a beta running right now, and we're still feeling things out with that beta. I definitely want to run more betas in the future

            We didn't set this new and interesting thing up for beta because we already chose to run a (non)beta of something we already did once and knew that all of you hated.

            btw, it's a nice feature, but for those players with short bases, it's not much help. I'm sure the maxed bases will eat it up, though. It will be interesting to see the strategy for base reconfiguration for some of the top players in diamond once these are introduced.

            the reduced elemental damage will be interesting to see how it plays out. a strong base can design a very difficult short island that is resistant to a specific elemental damage while also having a totem in play that reduces damage for another element for the entire base. potentially impacts 2 elemental tiers

            will the totem dmg reduction stack with the dragon perch if its the same?

              Looks like short bases still get two of the three of you utilize the temple island.

              Are these 0 XP structures just like totems? it will cost resources and speedup to speed it up but will give you nothing back for your level?

              Why are you introducing a feature with known issues before it is even implemented in the game? Can we stop with new features that are bugged from the beginning?

                Fantastic.

                Another limited resource for people to spend money on.

                PG, you must notice that these forums are getting quieter and quieter, and the chats in game getting emptier and emptier. Players are leaving at an alarming rate.

                Why in the hell are you still pulling crap like this?

                    Not to mention the dilution of prizes with black pearls in both chests and prizes.
                    This is what silver chests are for not the gold ones.
                    Seriously PG stop the blatant money grab and give a little to every one this Xmas.

                  Please read the post again. Those are features that were fixed during testing, but we're making players aware of them in case they crop back up for some reason. No feature is perfect, and we're trying to be as upfront about things as possible.
